Independent notes, with the context left in.

NBDA Asia is an independent editorial resource about approaching business and design research across Asian contexts. It is not an association, membership organisation or accrediting body.

What the resource does

These pages offer a method for framing research questions, collecting sources and making careful comparisons. They focus on the relationship between a specific observation and the conclusion you draw from it.

We do not claim to represent a profession, country, region or industry. No membership, certification, accreditation or institutional endorsement is offered here.

Why the context matters

Asia is a broad geographical frame containing many distinct settings. The useful unit for a research note is usually more specific: an organisation, a service, a place, a sector, an audience or a period.

A clear note tells the reader which context it examines and which it does not. It does not use a single example as a shortcut for a whole market or region.

The editorial approach

We distinguish original material, contextual information and interpretation. These are all useful, but they play different roles in a research argument and should remain identifiable in the finished note.

The examples on this site are planning structures rather than reports of particular business events. The artwork is an imagined workspace and does not depict a real organisation or geographic map.

Using these pages

Start with the overview to select a narrow question. Use the research notebook to record sources, compare material and review the limits of a conclusion before sharing it.

When your question concerns a current business fact, regulation or specific organisation, consult the relevant original and official sources. This general framework does not establish those facts for you.
